Snapshots on a Saturday: Getting Our Groove Back

Many of you know that the last few months have been difficult on myself and our family. We have dealt with several more than challenging situations lately. It has been a time of adjustment on many levels for the 5 of us. But since school has started, we are in a bit more of a routine and slowly getting back in the groove of things. We are even having a little fun too!

Adelaide & I are getting a lot of mommy/daughter time including a class at BYou on the silques...

My mom and I enjoyed a night out at the WISH awards...

The big kids are rocking tennis lessons each week with my old coach...

And baby Brighton is enjoying puppy snuggles with Beau...

Adelaide wanted a mohawk like her little brother and when I told her that her hair was too long for one, she took matters into her own hand...

thank you Tiffany for attempting to make it better!

Aspen is continuing his love for the pool with private swim lessons...

My 4th child (aka Ryan) sprained his ankle at House of Boom...

And cousin Kendahl turned 5 which meant lots of candy and cake...

A (Belated) Birthday Celebration: Ryan Turned 35

Back in March, Ryan turned the big 3-5! We had a lot going on like our first trip to Disney, work drama, and a full calendar with the kids & such so I had to get a little creative with my gifts to him. I decided on vouchers for some of his favorite things...to be used when the dust had settled and we had more time to enjoy.

Over Memorial Day weekend, he decided to cash in on some of those vouchers. The first was a family hike which we did at Constitution Marsh Sanctuary. It was a gorgeous day and the Shea's came along with us. The kids had a blast as Adelaide & Allie hiked the whole way themselves. Aspen walked a majority of the trail while Brighton & Jackson got a lift via hiking backpacks.

CHEESE!
Happy Birthday Daddy!

heading to the trail...

the fearless leader...legit she led the entire hike to the marsh and back
The marsh boardwalk had amazing views and the kids loved running in circles around the path. They saw tadpoles and other little fish. Blue skies, green grass, and views for days does the soul good!

a casual Saturday date!

yea it was the best family photo we could do...

hike complete!

water fight!

thumbs up for our hike!

The second voucher was for a family dinner and dessert. Ryan cashed that in Monday evening for grilled salmon, steamed veggies, avocado dip, and some other fixin's. Plus a little ice cream for dessert! Better late than never to celebrate! Plus the last and most exciting voucher will be cashed in this summer and worth the wait :)

these kids won't be complaining about the ice cream :)

Snapshots on a Saturday: Mimi Comes to Town

While I was working at the New Haven Open, Mimi & Adelaide were living it up in New York and Connecticut.

It is amazing the difference a year makes. This is Mimi & I last year at the 2012 New Haven Open just before I was about to pop!

And this is the three of us at the 2013 New Haven Open...

Future Tournament Director

Meeting Caroline Wozniacki

I was able to work my schedule to spend time with my mom and daughter too! Our fun for the week included playing at parks (swings are our fave!) and in shopping carts...

Hitting up the Big Apple where Mimi treated Adelaide to her first American Girl doll, Molly, which was my first American Girl doll too! This was so special to me especially since she comes with the sweetest birthday cake set :)

We also got up close & personal with the Central Park Zoo animals...

All tuckered out after a day in the city

We shopped in White Plains for home goodies and fashionista stuff fueled with energy by our signature spot The Cheesecake Factory...

I don't do naps while shopping Mom...

And enjoyed our time together as three generations of family & love...
