A Thompson Fall: Go To A Football Game

This fall we have taken in two football games~ one high school and one college. Both very different experiences but equally as memorable.

We headed to the St.X vs Trinity game with several other family friends. We tailgated, tossed the football, ran in circles, and cheered with pom poms. We may have lost a child for a bit as well~ luckily Aspen had no clue he was lost...simply hanging with other friends. I, on the other hand, had a panic attack for quite some time thinking he was gone. Thank heavens for family, friends & police!

The other exciting football game was the UM game at Hard Rock Stadium. Brighton & I got to watch the Canes under the bright lights on prime time tv. His eye lit up seeing the cool uniforms, fireworks for touchdowns, and the suite life with food & beverages. We will definitely be cheering them on the rest of the season!

A Thompson Fall: Roast S’mores on a Fire

A windy Saturday evening had us roasting s'mores on the patio...the kids didn't seem to think that they tasted any different of course! Ryan brought home 2 kits from a work trip at the Ritz which made for the perfect fall treat. Each of the kids roasted two mellows and gave themselves generous portions of chocolate to accompany them. It was a gooey, yummy dessert!

A Thompson Fall: Take a Family Bike Ride

We spent the Saturday early evening of Brighton's birthday taking a family bike ride around the neighborhood. We traded hikes for bikes this year making for a nostalgic adventure for me. The kids love to ride in between Mom & Dad as they whip around the hood...peddling faster and faster. They enjoyed the scenic route down the big hill then up it again to make the turn to Mimi's house. A full little pre-dinner ritual for fall time.

Salem Lucille: 6 Years Old

 Dearest Salem Lucille,

My sweet baby girl how are you 6 years old?! You’re a big Kindergartener and it seems as if you’ll be 16 years old soon! You are flourishing in school~ very meticulous about your nightly homework and studying your sight words each day.

You’ve made many new friends this year as well as enjoy hanging out with your friends from JK. You’re loving having Vivie, Jojo & Beckam at school with you this year!

You are a rock star on the soccer field! Playing for Uncle Peter & Uncle Robbie on the K team for SMM with all of your cousins. You’re loving it!

You are doing a solo for dance this year…to Shake It Off! You are too cute and I love watching you dance. You’re also doing jazz and hip hop. In your hip hop dance, you have a lead part!

You continue to learn and grow; love life and all things girly! You are crafty and attentive. You love cuddling up and dressing up. You’re a true ray of sunshine!

I love you!

Love,

Mommy

A Thompson Fall: Pick Apples from an Orchard

Not having sports on Fridays has been a great thing for our fall fun...allowing us to take adventures right after school. One afternoon we headed out to Mulberry Orchards to pick some apples. The kids love this place, each year adding new activities around the farm. We sipped on apple cider slushies, pulled BBQ sandwiches and fresh fruit. We picked apples in little totes and got apple jam too. One of our favorite fall bucket list traditions!
