A great asset to living on the Hudson is all of the events that take place in the Historic Hudson Valley. Comprised of seven historic sites from Washington Irving's Sunnyside to the Rockefeller Estate Kykuit, these establishments offer a glimpse into history from previous eras in this area. They also offer special events throughout the year making for unique experiences.
We have attended several events throughout our time here and have enjoyed them thoroughly. So when my friend Sharon won a year-long family membership and gifted it to us, I was beyond excited! As soon as I received our membership card in the mail, I was booking event tickets.
Last week I took the kids to A Child's Perspective, an exhibit from the 19th century viewed from a child's eye. They had a gorgeous set up out on the lawn with dress up clothes, children's games, arts & crafts, and a scavenger hunt.
Adelaide wasn't too keen on trying the clothes on; however she loved dressing me up. Too bad I don't take many selfies otherwise I would have had some great shots! It was a beautiful day so we walked the grounds admiring the architecture of the homes.
Over the next few months, we will be attending more events at these amazingly historic sites. Stay tuned!
