Derby 140: The Thompson Track

Saturday we hosted our 2nd Annual Derby Party here in New York. We had a fun & lively crowd. Some were first timers and other repeat offenders itching for a homemade mint julep.

We served tradition Kentucky fare: beer cheese dip, benedictine spread, mini hot browns, country ham & biscuits, and spicy sausage balls. Dessert boasted mint julep cupcakes, Derby pie, and delicious bourbon balls made by our friend Marc Wollin (a New Yorker ;) ).

The kids had a ball playing with all things pony as they ran in & out like wild horses. They were adorable and stayed up way past their bedtime...all for a good cause though!

Our annual betting pool raked in over $400 which was much to Steve's delight when he took home the WIN with California Chrome.

We had a wonderful time bringing a piece of "home" to New York again this year! Go Baby Go!
