Weekend Treats: A Rare NY Edition

To kick off our weekend, Ryan & I planned a casual date night to include dinner and a movie on Friday. We I had been dying to see What to Expect When You're Expecting so we grabbed the movie tickets (I bought on Groupon months ago) and headed to Chipotle in Portchester for some fine dining. We both enjoyed our usual and then loaded up on sweet treats for the movie. Stay tuned for a future post on the flick, but the short & skinny is that is was quite funny and touching all at the same time.

We ended our night getting tucked in bed fairly early to catch some beauty sleep...however my body had other plans. I was up all night with a stomach ache which involved frequent trips to the bathroom as well as vomiting multiple times. I'm not a fan of being sick period and I am definitely not a fan of being sick while preggo.

Saturday I slept in attempting to make up for the nightmare I had encountered during the night. Then it was full blown nesting syndrome as I washed and sterilized lots of bottles, nipples, and pacis. Followed by loads and loads of laundry which included baby clothes, baby blankets, baby bedding, and baby bath towels. Is it time for my child to arrive yet?

June marks the start of visitors month at our house and Winston was our first guest. He is no stranger to our house or helping on home projects. We have a nice little system going actually...he comes to help out and then we feed him. It works out nicely for all parties involved :) This weekend the main event was the baby's bathroom. More nesting of course.

It was a quick little project but felt like they conquered the world. And just like that, the baby had a bathroom...

Followed by Win's reward: dinner & dessert at The Blue Pig

our new fave local dessert spot

Sunday the boys enjoyed a morning on the patio talking about dude stuff while I did some household chores and watched the French Open. Then we returned Winston to the city before grabbing coffee and pastries at Moonbeam Cafe (our fave Sunday local spot) followed by a drive around Croton Point Park where we discovered a beach and camping just minutes from our doorstep. Alleluia! Next we headed to the Croton-on-Hudson festival where we wandered around from booth to booth exploring all of the shops and organizations of our town. From three different bands to performance taekwondo to jumpees to ethnic cuisine, we loved exploring our community.

Finishing up our evening with a little Sunday church service, this was a perfect hubby & wife weekend. It won't be long before our bundle of joy arrives so we're trying to make the most of our time together.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend too!
