Ringing in the New Year: Goodbye 2025, Hello 2026

Saying goodbye to 2025 was bittersweet~ so many wonderful moments and memories. Nothing life changing to earth shattering; just being in the moments and living life each day.

As we look forward to 2026, the hope for our family is that we continue to spend time with one another, continue to learn from our mistakes, and continue to grow together.

40 Before 40: Visit One New Country

Barbados~ an eastern Caribbean island and an independent British Commonwealth nation. Bridgetown, the capital, is a cruise-ship port with colonial buildings and Nidhe Israel, a synagogue founded in 1654. Around the island are beaches, botanical gardens, the Harrison’s Cave formation, and 17th-century plantation houses like St. Nicholas Abbey. Local traditions include afternoon tea and cricket, the national sport.

Barbados is as charming as it is tropical. It was the perfect new country to visit, especially in the middle of January where winter blues it hard in our house. We were greeted by a sophisticated driver sporting a Rolls Royce {childhood memories rushing back} and then whisked away to our resort. Perfection at every turn. Romance all around us. The beach. The flavorful food. The music & entertainment. The company.

A truly unforgettable week with my husband, visiting a new country & making memories to last a lifetime.

Cheers to the New Year: 2021 into 2022

We rang in the new year with an early adult dinner at Riverhouse. We sat outside on the heated patio overlooking the Ohio River with a gorgeous sunset. The food was delicious but the company made the evening. It was fun to sit & chat and reminisce with family. We don’t always get to have uninterrupted conversations so it was a treat to soak up our parents during a night out that I’ll always cherish.

Then we wrote our wishes for the new year and tucked them into a special ornament. We re~decorated my parents’ Christmas tree & hung our wishes there for all to see.

A little cheers to all of the memories made in 2021 and a big toast to all that are to come in 2022 🍾
