I can hardly believe it's been a year since you passed away. So much has happened since February 20, 2011, but I guess you sort of already know what's going on from up there. Just in case, I thought I'd let you know the scoop.
Kendahl gave birth to Collins Isabella on April 21st of last year. It was a rather seamless delivery, and I flew in to surprise her. That sweet baby is crawling, crawling, crawling everywhere. She wears the biggest smile and has the chunkiest little legs. Bishop loves being a big brother so much. He calls her "B" because he can't say Collins just yet. He likes to hug & kiss her but not so keen on sharing all of his toys with her. Kendahl is taking on more responsibility at the dealership and has so much pride for what you & Papa built. Peter is doing a great job at St. X, keeping up with Kendahl, and playing with the babies.
Shane & Amanda got married on July 2nd in Michigan. Amanda looked very pretty, and Shane was extremely handsome. The ceremony was outside in a garden, and the reception was a hoot. Kenny Hodge & Brett Olgin, groomsmen, had dad out on the dance floor to some hip hop songs. Secretly he loved it! They have settled into their house quite nicely, having friends & family over for dinner often. Shane has taken on a new role at the dealership, putting in his time like dad & Papa. He truly loves working in the family business, and he has the passion for success.
Your name sake, Taylor Christine, graduates college in May. She is excited and overwhelmed for the big world all at the same time. She is looking into different options for jobs with magazine companies and might even come out to New York this summer. She has really grown into a woman. You know she celebrated her 21st birthday last April so she can legally enjoy a glass of wine these days!
Mom and Dad are doing good. They come to see you, Papa, and Mama Comley a lot at the cemetary. They leave flowers, wreaths, and lots of love each time. They put your house up for sale which sort of pierced all of our hearts. We go to the house often though, just to remember the memories and sometimes it makes it seem like you are still here. Dad has been working extra hard at work, and mom watches the grandbabies three days a week. They are hoping to buy a house in Naples, FL soon. We went down there after Christmas for a week of sun and fun.
As for Ryan & I, we moved closer to home. We bought a house in Westchester County, New York. I think you would really like it. We are expecting a baby in August. August 30th to be exact. It all happened so fast. Sometimes I worry that I won't be a good mom, but I am willing to give it a try anyway ;) I have been playing more tennis which is how I am meeting people here in New York. Someday we will make it back to Kentucky. I know you had hoped it would be while you were around, and I am sorry that we couldn't make it happen. I miss you a lot. I don't know if it was because you were the last grandparent to pass away or if I just knew I was your favorite (wink, wink), but I have had a really hard time getting over your passing. I think it partly scares me to know that mom & dad are now at the top. And partly because it means that us kids are growing up way too fast. In some ways, it feels like our innocence has faded now. I think of you often though. And Papa Collins & Mama Comley too.
I hope you are living it up in Heaven! Kisses and hugs to all three of you!
Love,
Whitney
