The Thompson Christmas Bucket List: Sip Hot Cocoa with Mrs. Claus

One of our favorite holiday traditions is Santa Safari at the Louisville Zoo. It is a wonderful afternoon spent with Frosty the Snowman, the North Pole Elves, Mrs. Claus & Santa. The program entails coloring pages, a scavenger hunt, hot cocoa, cookies, a craft, story time with Mrs. Claus, caroling, and a visit with Santa!

The walk leading down the candy cane row was decorated with sweet little North Pole animals and lots of Christmas cheer. The elves greet you and assign you a table. We had F for falalala. Tinsel is the head elf and she is happy as can be. Frosty & his Penguin friend make the rounds with tickles and cuddles. When Mrs. Claus arrives, she has fresh Christmas tree-shaped cookies to serve. She is a wonderful woman who loves to laugh & play with the children. Next she reads The Night Before Christmas and the children gather around her to hear the story. The elves alert us that Santa's Sleigh is nearing and we must sing Christmas carols loud & clear to bring more cheer!

In booms Santa with a smile the size of Texas. He is so jolly and he listens intently to every child's wish list. He never rushes the children and he has magic in his soul. The children always smile the biggest for this photo.

Santa Safari is one of the most magical experiences that we have during this holiday season!
