A Mother's Day to Remember: Wilmington, DE

From my first Mother's Day as a mother, I decided to take a weekend off from my normal duties. By this I mean household chores...so the only logical way to not do those routine chores over Mother's Day weekend was to start the tradition of taking a little weekend getaway.

We have been to Boston, MA and Mystic, CT previously which proved to be wonderful family places. This year we decided to drive to Wilmington, DE for a few days of family fun. We arrived Friday night after a bit of traffic and settled into the hotel. We had a suite so Adelaide had her "big girl" room so she called it. The kids had their sleeping bags and she was very excited about sleeping on hers (on the pullout couch). Aspen shared her room and slept on his mini bag in the crib. **We enjoyed a 1am fire drill walking 6 flights of stairs carrying sleeping children. Psyche.**

The next morning we enjoyed a walk along the Wilmington Riverfront before playing at the Delaware Children's Museum. We enjoyed a nice lunch on the river to fuel up for afternoon activities.

After naps, we headed to the ballpark for some good ole American fun...the Blue Rocks of Wilmington took on Lynchburg under the sunset while we enjoyed hot dogs and ice cream.

puppy balloon!

Sunday we delighted in a delicious brunch at Deerfield before heading to the Brandywine Zoo.

We really enjoyed our weekend together...doing fun stuff instead of chores and such. The kids equally enjoyed their time away exploring a new place and getting special treats. I am very lucky to have these two babies and be called their mommy!

**Bonus**

Thanks to my sweet friend Marissa, who let me borrow her hand held fetal doppler, I got to hear my other baby's sweet heart beat Sunday night! Mother's Day complete :)
