The novel adopted into a movie by British writer Allison Pearson is a delighful read for any woman who struggles with juggling the demands of life. A full time investor, mother of two, and wife, Kate Reddy, watches as her life begins to spin out of control when her to dos finally catch up with her. The ever-evolving expectations of herself and those others have of her coupled with overbearing in-laws, a snide nanny, and her suave American business client makes for a roaring good time with a roller coaster of emotions.
Pearson writes from the heart and shows a glimpse into her own world where she plays the role of ultimate woman as well. And I am anxious to see this movie with the all-star cast of SJP, Pierce Brosnan, & Kelsey Grammer. The comical angle yet relevance and truth of today's working mother shines through and proves to still be a battle for all of us in our everyday lives. If you are a woman, check out this book. You might just find that the same crazy schedule and life you lead is shared by your neighbor or friend!
