One of my favorite things about my visit home this past week was getting to take
Bishop on a play date. Just my nephew & I riding along in the car to Shelbyville, bonding and visiting
Rachel Watts Webb. Now Rachie has an almost 3 year old boy named Walker and a new baby girl named Warren. I don't see her nearly as
often as I would like, but she is
always in my heart. The girl
always looks perfect and has a smile on her face. Her cool, calm, and collected attitude is something I did
not get blessed with.
The last time I ventured out to see her was over a year ago, and she was hosting the Friday play date group. I was surrounded by 15 kids from newborns to 4 years old. I was in heaven as the mom's felt terrified for me. This visit was a little more low key, but with two kids under 3, we were definitely entertained.
I was a tad nervous that Bishop would start crying or misbehave with just me, but he waltzed right into the Webb home and helped himself to Walker's "dars".
Walker, polite as he is, just let him play with toy after toy without one complaint. It was sweet to see the two studying one another and playing shyly.
Rachie & I caught up on life. Our visits are never long enough, but I guess that is what happens when you live on opposite coasts. The refreshing part about our friendship is that we pick right back up from where we left off.
No judgements. No hard feelings for not staying in better touch. Just a
lot of love and understanding!
Oh and I'm getting this aunt thing down okay...
