28 for 28

In true thief-like fashion, I am stealing this blogging post idea from the one & only Rachel Watts Webb. Following in her 27 for 27 footsteps, lucky for her she has not aged another year just yet nor am I 27 weeks preggo (or preggo at all for that matter), I am doing 28 for 28.

So here goes 28 things that you may or may not know about me:

1. I love to read. I used to bring stacks upon stacks of books to my mom to read to me at night.
2. So in turn, I now read Ryan a "lovetime" story before bed each night.
3. I had an emergency appendectomy when I was 9 causing the doctor to tell me that I was probably going to die...19 years later I am still standing.
4. That same delightful doctor also told me that my large scar would be a fine line by the time I was 16...I ain't 16 anymore and that scar ain't a fine line.
5. I am obsessed with old time phones, pictures, tvs, and clocks making going through my Mama Collins' house bittersweet.
6. I cry at church every Sunday, usually right after the Eucharist. Something about receiving the Holy Spirit continues to move me.
7. I was 6 weeks old the first time I flew.
8. Which accounts for the fact that I generally fall asleep before the plane takes off and awake upon landing, no matter how long/far the flight might be.
9. I wear aloe socks every single night to bed.
10. I had Lasik eye surgery in 2009 and it is the best money I ever spent (aside from Baby Beau of course).
11. The timing of this little surgery was not ideal however as it caused me to look like I was high in Ryan & I's first date pictures.

12. My siblings and I fight like cats & dogs at times but if you mess with one of us, you better believe you will have the rath of 4 upon you ;)
13. I still sleep with Alphie, the stuffed lion that my ADPi Big Sis Melody gave me when I pledged.
14. I am the Recruitment Advisor for UCLA at ADPi. Alpha Chi in the house!
15. I could watch Without a Trace, Criminal Minds, and Law & Order for days on end.
16. I also believe myself to be a private detective.
17. Writing is my free therapy.
18. I love sending cards or notes to people for no reason.
19. Mainly because I love receiving mail and think everyone should :) (since most people only ever get yucky bills in the mail!)
20. I send my nephew/Godson and adopted niece & nephew bible verses with a special note each month.
21. I re-read the first card Ryan ever wrote to me several times a week just to remember how it all started & feel those early butterflies all over again!
22. I realize that I miss my mom and dad with each passing year, and I value the time we get to spend together.
23. I love snowboarding with Ryan, but I also take in those moments when it is just the snow, the mountain, and myself rushing down. There is something super thrilling about it to me.
24. Tulips are my favorite flower.

25. I want 4 kids in the order of boy, girl, boy, girl.
26. I am terrified that I will not be able to have children.
27. I have the 5 best friends a girl could ask for and the sounds of their voices or the sight of their faces lights up my heart.
28. I am marrying the man of my dreams in November...something I thought I would never get to do in life ;)
