8 is Great: Celebrating Salem Lucille

Eight is great! We spent the weekend in Nashville with a Girls trip to celebrate Salem. Accompanied by her two best cousin friends, She had herself a good time at the Honkytonk!

We enjoyed our stay at the Graduate hotel. It is just the right amount of cozy meets country feel… Every detail is meticulously done to make the guest feel like a part of country music.

We dined at Hampton Social~ Where the ambience and food are always spectacular. The Parmesan truffle fries are delicious by the way :)

Enjoying our morning, coffee and breakfast bites at the hotel was a highlight… Followed by the girls playing “mansion”. Apparently the Swanky hotel was their home and we were their servants 😝

We wrapped up the day with a party at the American girl doll store. The girls enjoyed salad, pizza, and pink lemonade. Their dolls enjoyed getting their hair conditioned and styled. Crafts were made in trivia was played. And of course, we finished up with a little shopping spree!

I hope this is a trip that Salem will always remember… Making memories with her cousins/best friends as well as with her mom, Mimi & Aunt Bees!

Salem Lucille: 8 Years Old

 Dearest Salem Lucille,

How can you be eight years old?! You are in the second grade and things feel like they’re flying by so fast. No longer a little baby, but a bright, beautiful young lady.

You are the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. You still get up every morning and greet me with a smile and a hug and most things you do, you are a breeze to deal with and always willing to lend a helping hand.

You have transitioned schools beautifully… Making friends, doing your schoolwork with pride, and being a true leader!

Starting your fourth year of competitive dance, you are in six dances! You are back to doing a solo to Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know?, Do a trio with your friends, Stella & Hunter Kate, and then four group dances. You truly enjoy the choreography As well as the time spent with your teachers and dance mates.

You continue to be a bookworm… Reading every single day! You love to challenge yourself and even play “secret reader” to your stuffed animals.

This year, you could not wait until October 1st~ Coming down bright & early to remind me that it was finally your birthday month! You helped put up the Halloween decorations and enjoyed being a big helper.

You are so kind and sweet. You love your big brothers and sister fiercely. You were always looking to encourage them, but also show them your latest tricks.

You are our rainbow Halloween baby forever!

I love you!

Love,

Mommy

A Thompson Fall: Watch a Cozy Movie

To wrap up fall break, we opted for a cozy movie night on the couch. The kids chose Bad Guys 2~ ironically Aspen has been reading Bad Guys Halloween Heist so it was perfect timing.

Cozied up on the couch with Halloween jammies and blankets, we enjoyed the family movie. And no movie night is complete without a little dessert… So we pulled out the pumpkin ice cream sandwiches and the pumpkin spice chocolate balls to enjoy!
