A Thompson Christmas: Sing Christmas Carols

 The sweetest Christmas Carols are always from the voices of little angels...Salem Lucille sang and danced her heart out at her school Christmas Musical. Candy Cane Lane was as sweet as can be~ part sass and part sweet. She has practiced so hard for months and absolutely shined bright. It was also bittersweet for big sis Adelaide to help with the stage crew. For 8 years we have loved this holiday tradition, and we will cherish this last one forever!

Singing loud for all to hear is the best way to spread Christmas cheer! I love hearing my kiddos belt out all of the holiday carols~ it is heaven to my ears. We have the music going non stop throughout the entire season. So no surprise that this is a hot bucket list item for us! 

Salem was a star in her K/1 Musical, Elflandia. The cutest little play with the cutest little Elf in town. She was front row living her best life, and I was smiling & happy crying all the tears.

Our favorite carols of the season are those from the SMM Church Christmas Play. This year the kids were a narrator, wise man, shepherd, & angel. They did an amazing job as always~ taking their roles seriously and thoroughly embracing the story of the Birth of Jesus. 

By far, my favorite bucket list item that we do each year...truly remembering the reason for the season!

 

40 Before 40: Visit One New Country

Barbados~ an eastern Caribbean island and an independent British Commonwealth nation. Bridgetown, the capital, is a cruise-ship port with colonial buildings and Nidhe Israel, a synagogue founded in 1654. Around the island are beaches, botanical gardens, the Harrison’s Cave formation, and 17th-century plantation houses like St. Nicholas Abbey. Local traditions include afternoon tea and cricket, the national sport.

Barbados is as charming as it is tropical. It was the perfect new country to visit, especially in the middle of January where winter blues it hard in our house. We were greeted by a sophisticated driver sporting a Rolls Royce {childhood memories rushing back} and then whisked away to our resort. Perfection at every turn. Romance all around us. The beach. The flavorful food. The music & entertainment. The company. 

A truly unforgettable week with my husband, visiting a new country & making memories to last a lifetime.
