We wrapped up our fall bucket list by taking a little family hike {aka stroll} around the Seneca Park Nature Trail. We had fabulous weather with sunshine and true fall crisp air. The kids loved the hidden gem that I was able to show them. Skipping rocks on the pond, watching the creek glimmer, and jumping over tree roots. It was the perfect way to kick off Thanksgiving week and get ready for the holidays!

Adelaide Jane: 12 1/2 Years Old
Dearest Adelaide Jane,
So much has changed for you in the last six months sweet girl. A new sport… Changing from competitive gymnastics to competitive swim. A new school… Changing from SMM to SHMS. With all of these changes, come new friends, new routines, new challenges, and new opportunities.
Your ability to walk into a new setting and make friends, find the joy in each day, and leave your mark is truly incredible. You have the ability to see the good and everyone around you and you strive to be friends with all.
Swimming has been an incredible journey so far. You have cut significant time. Your love of freestyle and backstroke continue to impress me. You made time cut for big meets in Indianapolis, Nashville, and Atlanta. You currently have eight state cuts, five above your Goal that was set at the start of the season.
This year, Christmas was very special. It was the first year where you became part of the magic. Being Mommy’s helper, you helped with our North Pole breakfast, as well as the elves nightly shenanigans. It was so special to be able to share in the magic together.
I hope you know how loved you are today and always. Although we but heads on many subjects, I love that we get to do this mother daughter thing together.
I love you!
Love,
Mom

A Thompson Christmas: Drive to See Christmas Lights
We spent a chilly evening at Kentucky Kingdom kicking off our Christmas bucket list. We loved the rides that sparkled under the holiday lights. We loved zipping down the snow tube and overlooking the bright lights of the park. The Christmas music chiming in made for an exciting trek through each themed area.
Despite the cold, we had a magical evening filled with laughter and child-like excitement. The kind that only comes with Christmas!
