Adelaide Jane: 9 1/2 Years Old

 Dearest Adelaide Jane,

There is a lot of emotion in writing this milestone. You are only six months away from being double digits. I feel like I blinked and you turned one, then 5, and now here we are~ 9 and a half years old!

You continue to flourish into a sweet & sassy young woman. You’re full of life & spirit & all things fun. You are friendly and enjoy making others smile and laugh at the same time. You are a loyal friend to the core, often times taking things a bit hard & a little too personal. It’s a quality that I admire about you; and one I know will break your heart at times. But don’t let the world harden you, because that quality will also bring you some of the greatest joys.

You are excelling in gymnastics & swim this year. Your work ethic and coach ability is something that I truly admire about you {as do others}. You’re leading in silent ways as well as performance ways. My hope is that you always continue to stay humble; work hard; and enjoy the bountiful lessons that sports will bring your life.

Your love for learning academically is refreshing. You are a little worker bee, always completing assignments ahead of time, doing extra math, and loving on Mrs. Schulten.

I hope you always continue to soar sweetheart. I hope you always know how truly special you are and how you are immensely loved by all!

I love you!

Love,

Mommy

40 Before 40: Go to a College Gymnastics Meet with Adelaide

Adelaide & I spent my birthday evening cheering on the UK GymCATS in their fight against the FL Gators. The highlights included hanging with some of her KGA friends, getting her UK shirt signed by some of the UK gymnasts, and taking selfies with the girls!
For me, it was really fun to see her be excited. Living her best life and the joy in her smile & in her voice were priceless!

40 Before 40: A Birthday Bucket List

As I am entering my last year of my 30s, I wanted to give some purpose to this year. Spending my 39th year doing the things I enjoy most, with the people I love most, and relishing in the ability to live each day to the fullest. I have created a list of 40 things that I would like to experience before actually turning 40 next February 18th. Some are things that I have done before {just not in a very long time}; some are things that have been on the back burner for decades; some are things that seem simple yet mean so much; and some are things that can only bring about the nostalgic memories of my childhood.

The theme is time. Time with family; time with friends; time with myself. Because in essence, the greatest gift to give or receive is time.

Listed below are the 40 Bucket List items {in no particular order} that I plan to spend the next 365 days living.
