Adelaide Jane: 7 Years Old

    Dearest Adelaide Jane,

It seems as if the years just keep passing by quicker and quicker as we go. It is hard to believe that you turn 7 years old today. I still vividly remember the night I found out that I was pregnant with you. I continue to cherish the beautiful memories of carrying you for 9 months. And I will never forget the greatest moment that you were born!

You are growing up in so many ways and continue to display your independence. You enjoy doing chores such as laundry, the dishes, and making a meal for our family. Most times you take the initiative to serve us in such a way which makes my heart happy.

You are also an extremely big helper with your siblings. You love to greet Salem in the mornings and to help with her bath at night time. You have been so sweet to Aspen as he transitioned to SMM this year. You always stop for a hug and a hello in the lunchroom which I know makes him feel beyond loved. And you & Brighton continue to have a ball reading books, riding bikes, or just being silly together.

You continue to have this bubbly personality. You are a little social butterfly at school waving hi to friends in every grade. You are a leader in your class according to Mrs. Lowe and you are thriving in first grade daily. I love how you enjoy reading and are constantly asking for more practice in math, writing, and reading. You attended the 1st grade party at Grace's house and you were cracking me up. Getting fancy in the photo booth, pushing the lifeguard in (with some help from your friends!), and breaking it down on the dance floor. It was so fun to see you in your element with your sweet classmates & friends.

While you are a lot sweet, you are also a lot of sass. Sometimes it makes me giggle and other times it makes me steam! You act older than you are at times and it doesn't always serve you in a positive light. But when you cuddle up and ask for more "huggies" then I realize that inside you are still that little baby first born of mine!

You have officially lost 4 teeth so far. The first two Ms. Domzalski at SMM pulled last school year. Over the summer, your big cousin Bishop pulled one and then two days later you pulled your 4th tooth! Both were on Mimi's watch and I couldn't believe how brave you were to endure :)

You enjoyed a lot of sports over the summer. "Camp HCC" was great especially since you learned to dive on the dive team, played tennis, tried golf, and competed in swimming. Your sweet 6&U girls relay swam your hearts out and WON CITY MEET! You are a City Champion my girl and you all could not have been more excited, proud & humble. You also placed 3rd in your individual 25 meter freestyle by .2 seconds. You received the High Point Girls Award which was a tribute to your year-long commitment to swimming. You raced your heart out all weekend long and I was so proud to see your hard work and dedication pay off!

You continue to LOVE gymnastics. You moved up to Sapphires and attend class for 2.5 hours weekly. You also will begin 2 hours of strength & conditioning soon. You begged to add this extra day and can constantly be found doing cartwheels, flips, and handstands throughout the house. I am proud of your dedication to the things that drive you.

While there have been trying times where you push and push until I lose my patience, there have been more times where you have melted my heart with your love and compassion for others. Your smile is one of my favorite things about you. Your zest for life and living it to the fullest is something that I hope is never taken from you as it will make your world all the better to keep. I am incredibly lucky to be your mom and while it is hard to believe time doesn't stop, I will continue to enjoy each moment of growth with you!

    I love you!

    Love,

    Mommy

    Back-to-School: 2019-2020

In our traditional back-to-school fashion, we accessorized with new backpacks, found new study tools, and indulged in a very delicious breakfast to kick off the new school year!

One of my favorite things about SMM is Blessings of the Backpacks the Sunday before school begins. It centers us and prepares us for the new year, and I truly enjoy it so much. With 2 kids attending SMM this year, we had double the fun {and trouble!} at Student Open House. Adelaide & Aspen were excited to pick up their school supplies, try out the cookies from Taher plus add money to their lunch accounts, meet their new teachers, see old friends, and hug the SMM Mustang!

Adelaide is entering first grade which seems hard to believe. It makes her sound so old and her classroom is now in a new part of the school. I had to hold back the tears. Mrs. Lowe & Mrs. Krill are incredibly sweet and even sent her a postcard prior to Open House. I cannot wait to see what she learns this year!

Aspen will be in JK and he has the fabulous Ms. Wheatley. We love, love, love her and he gave her the biggest hug as he entered her classroom! Her assistant is Mrs. Bright who is a fellow lefty and took to him immediately. He was all smiles and beaming with pride to be at his new school!

It is hard to believe that we are entering our 4th year at Harvey Browne...and that I have 2 "graduates" from there! Brighton was bursting at the seams to get to school and Salem can never be left behind. We are thrilled to have another year with the wonderful Butterfly teachers~ Mrs. Evans & Mrs. Kenney. And we are going to savor our *maybe* last day of PDO with the amazing group of ladies!

We continue to feel blessed & grateful for a community who nurtures, encourages, teaches, and loves our children whole-heartedly!
