40 Before 40: See a Legend In Concert

Elton John has long been a musical staple in my life. His soulful, feel good songs have made for great memories from car rides as a child to teenage karaoke to getting over adult heartbreak. At 75 years old as he performs his farewell tour, I knew he was the Legend to see before I hit the 40 mark. 

He did not disappoint. In fact he surpassed my wildest dreams of seeing a phenomenal concert that I will forever cherish. The Music Man might be hanging up his hat but his songs will live on forever.

 

Salem Lucille: 4 1/2 Years Old

Dearest Salem Lucille,

My little sweet girl, how are you nearing 5 years old so quickly?! I feel like I blinked and here we are only 6 months shy of a huge age milestone. 

You have a special sunshine about you that makes most days so fun with you. The way you tilt your head a bit to ask an inquisitive question. Or the sleepy way you wander downstairs to hug me good morning. All of the little things that make you YOU are sweet to watch grow & change with time. 

You absolutely love school~ both the Butterfly and Fish classes. A fun mix of friends & cousins plus the amazing teachers. I love that you love to go to school each day, especially when Kolton is at early birds with you!

You are a little swimming fish. You have been continuously taking lessons with Sophie at Blairwood and it is paying off big time. You can do a race dive, swim backstroke the entire length of the pool, and side kick with the pulley. You can often be found trying on various swim caps during your lesson. We recently bought your HCC Hurricanes swimsuit and you are so excited to be on the swim team this year!

You continue to be a little tiny dancer too...enjoying Monday dance class with Miss Jae. You have two dances in the recital this year, and they are absolutely precious. I cannot wait to see you shine on stage with those sparkly boots & sweet baby ballet slippers.

My little blonde, keep smiling and living life to the fullest. You are a snuggle bunny who loves to cuddle up with your mommy, your siblings, and your dada...even your puppy Beaumont too! I hope you always love to be near me and give me goodnight kisses.

He is Risen: Easter 2022

 We soaked up all of the Easter fun during this special springtime. From little chick surprises to washing of feet, we spent this Lenten season reflecting on the love & sacrifices the Lord Jesus made for us. We spent time with family and friends; we sang our hearts out at Church; and we reminded one another that unconditional love is the greatest gift.
