Despite Ryan feeling way under the weather, he mustered up the energy to take me on a little date this past weekend. I was itching for sun and warmth
per the usual so we headed down to
Santa Cruz for both. It is about an hour away from SF and has a real
live beach. One with
sand and
waves. One where people
actually get into the water.
I was a happy camper.

We strolled along the
boardwalk,
think Atlantic City, and walked down the pier. We dipped our toes in the water and romantically kissed a time or three. We rode the thrilling
Hurricane roller coaster which much to our surprise was
indeed scary. Perhaps because it felt like the damn thing was coming off the tracks
and we were sitting front row.

While watching the sunset, we headed north on the 101 to Half Moon Bay for dinner. I was craving clam chowder and knew just the spot. We pulled into the dimly lit
Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. Equipped with acoustic music, mood lighting, outside heaters, and a delicious menu. I ordered a cup of the clam chowder, the crab & shrimp focaccia sandwich, and a glass of Kendall Jackson Chard. Ryan dined on the
Yucatan Cobb salad. And we both enjoyed an evening on the water.

We finished up our little date with a few episodes of Law & Order accompanied by reese cups. He really knows the way to a woman's heart ;)
