Nashville: Mimosas, Muscles, & Music

This past weekend I had a 36-hour girls mini getaway with 3 of my best friends. Ali, Marquette, & I flew into Nashville to support Kelley at her first body building competition. A short but sweet trip filled with girl talk, girlie things, and girly treats. See below...mimosas and cupcakes!

KP took 4th place in her first ever competition. It was amazing to see her body transformation in person. She made us all so proud :)

As a thank you for coming, Kelley gave us her gym favorites! So sweet!

Kel, we are so proud of you! Your hard work and dedication over the past 10 months really paid off and you looked like a knockout up there! Love you!

ADPi Playdate Delight

While in Kentucky, my dear friend Blair planned a wonderful Brunch with Babes playdate with some of our sorority pledge class sisters. It was wonderful to meet these little ones who I have followed on Facebook since their moms were pregnant with them!

Adelaide was the only older girl (baby Leighton is only a few months!) but she gave the boys a run for their money...including a small incident where she mistook Cruz for a pony and grabbed his hair! Eek!

Blair had a fabulous brunch set out with lots of yummy treats including mimosas and donuts! The kids loved the donuts too ;)

So much fun getting to visit with old friends and watch them in mommy mode! Hopefully we can do it again soon!

*Introducing Our Ace*

When it comes to cards, I like to be as creative as possible. I truly adore the holidays because it means lots and lots of fun & festive photo cards from friends and family. I anxiously await the mail during the winter months to see what treat we have received. And I look forward to sending out our holiday card any card for any occasion.

So when it came time to introduce Adelaide Jane to the world, I wanted something out-of-the-box. I racked my brain trying to come up with a meaningful twist to her/my pregnancy. Ah-ha! Tennis was such a huge part of my entire pregnancy and the only activity that made Ms. Adelaide rest in my tummy. I played around with the WTA website and loved the layout of the player profile; with a little baby-fying of the wording I knew what I wanted the announcement to say. Now all I needed was a designer...

Insert Mellen Designs, a company founded by my sweet sorority sister Mary Ellen Fortney. I had used them for a few wedding details (i.e. our couples shower thank yous and rehearsal dinner coasters). I shared my vision with Mary Ellen, and she cooked up the perfect birth announcement.

Weekend Treats: Shady Pi Edition

My first weekend back in Kentucky proved to be a fun-filled, belly laughing, exhausting yet rewarding time (per the usual). Kicked off with a 5 mile walk around our neighborhood with my sisters & mom then family dinner on Thursday night. Friday I headed down to LexVegas to celebrate my MIL's 60th with a few races at Keeneland. The weather was gorgeous and my bump was tucked safely inside my UK pride blue pants & beige top courtesy of Kendahl's b-day gift to me. Next KP and I met the Shady Pis of pledge class 2001 at Rincon starting off our reunion weekend with class of course ;) We enjoyed Mexican food & margaritas (well they enjoyed the tequila drink) while gossiping over parenting skills, former classmates, SAE boys, and more. The night continued with singing & dancing at Redmond's and a few clumsy manuevers from the drinkers!

Saturday, the weather was blah but couldn't stop our tailgating fun. Huddled in cars, we continued our gossip over jello shots and *gasp* a diet coke for me. Boxed seats were key in our older age as we made bets and snacked on bloody mary's and hot dogs. Dolled up from the reaces, we headed to Merrick Inn for a big girl meal. We enjoyed a table outside filled with stories of TMI, lots of giggles, martinis, to-die-for food, and heavenly desserts. And no LexVega weekend would be complete without hitting up the world famous Two Keys Tavern where we would have the best laughs of the entire weekend. Let's just say...some things never change!

Sunday, a small group enjoyed breakfast at Ramsey's before I stopped by Barry & Elizabeth's to meet baby Henry Thomas Cooper. Born weighing 5 lbs (now over 6), he was so tiny and sweet. Dressed in a monogrammed blue & white striped long sleeve onesie, he nestled his little body in my arms and slept peacefully. I hadn't held a baby in quite awhile, and I had forgotten just how precious & amazing they truly are. It definitely made being pregnant all the more real to see & hold what is growing inside me. And to physically be able to touch what the miracle will become in 4 short months. E looks great and Barry talks fatherhood with so much pride. Bonus: their house is beautiful with an adorable & cozy nursery.

I wrapped up the day with Baby T's first baby shower. More to come in a separate most on that with lots of details and pics, but for now I'll tell you that it was exciting *and* different from any shower I've had held for me!
