A North Pole Breakfast: Sparky is BACK!

Sparky returned last weekend with all the Christmas goodies for the kids. He brought special pajamas, their annual ornaments, precious moments for the girls & vintage cars for the boys, a Christmas book, holiday accessories, and Rudolph themed chapstick, notepads & pens.

Perhaps the sweetest thing that he brought was a plush doll nativity set which he sat next to the new baby Christmas tree. The kids immediately ran to see and asked if they could play with baby Jesus & his animals. In certain ways, they are beginning to connect Jesus with the meaning of Christmas which makes my heart smile.

They were of course excited to see Sparky, his special note from the North Pole, his magic red gloves in case he needs moving, and the creative book about our Elf.  They have already had "private" conversations with him regarding their wish lists and apologies for accidentally touching him last year. The cutest was when Aspen spoke to him and finished with a "Yes" in a soft voice to equate to a response from Sparky himself!

To accompany this big morning, I whipped up a special delivery from the North Pole for breakfast. We enjoyed Santa pancakes with plenty of whipped cream. The Grinch inspired Santa fruit hats were a huge hit. We also had Christmas themed eggs & toast. For a sweet treat, we indulged in Nutella- gingerbread pancakes with M&M buttons. And to round out the special breakfast, I made my mom's famous poppyseed bread.

The kids remarked that it was the best breakfast ever! I will take that compliment since I was up until midnight preparing this one for all to enjoy. Let the magic & fun of Sparky the Elf begin :)
