We spent our 7th wedding anniversary enjoying a Staycation in downtown Louisville. It was the perfect 24 hours to explore our hometown while pretending to be tourist. Ryan was full of surprises and I was along for the carefree ride.
We stopped at Quills Coffee to caffeinate ourselves for the day. Next we got a private tour of Angel's Envy which has such a neat history of the vision and how it all came together. After a walk around the gift shop, we decided that a few items made the perfect Christmas gifts for family.

Next
we decided to check out Old Forester for a little bourbon tasting. Ryan
opted for a 3 flight taste while I sipped on a Mint Julep. The ambiance
at George's (their bar) was super chic and very cool. It was nice to
take it all in and see that downtown is booming.
Next
I had a massage at Exhale in the Galt House. I melted on the table and
dozed off while my body was rejuvenated. I don't think I have been that
relaxed in a long time!
We
checked into the Brown Hotel next. I had never actually been in this
hotel, only outside. It is stunning. The rich history of the hotel and
the specific details made for an even more special stay.

We
dined at Proof on Main for dinner & cocktails. We were there for
close to 3 hours just enjoying our meal, conversation, and drinks. We
had one of the best meals and nights that we have had in years.
We had a delicious brunch at Harvest to cap off the anniversary celebration. The biscuits & gravy was amazing. Also the smashies were the perfect side to our omelette & scrambled egg sandwich.
