Dearest Aspen,
Its hard to believe you're two months old already. You are as cool as a cucumber and pretty chill. Uncle Peter thinks you can't hear because with all the commotion around here you don't even make a peep!
At 6 weeks, you had your first trip to the ER. Adelaide accidentally slipped in the shower and fell on you in your whale tub. Turns out you were just fine and milked every bit of the alone time hamming it up with the nurses. When they weighed you, I about fell out of the chair.: 12lbs, 4 ozs! Up 4lbs in your first 6 weeks of life. Hello chunker!
My NY tennis friends hosted a beautiful Sip n' See party in your honor. They just ate you up! You were showered with so much love and the sweetest little boy things. Oh and you've already got your first tennis racquet :)
You are soaking up the summer sun a lot these days. You had your first beach trip to Long Beach in New York. You were such a stud! Then we spent 4th of July in the Hamptons playing in the pool and on the beach. You even hit up a winery already! No drinking for you though...only milk ;)
And you flew for the 2nd time to Kentucky to spend time with family. You got to meet your baby cousin Boston and your cousins Ja'c, Tyler, & Travis. You've been loved on and hugged bunches here. Bishop can hardly wait for you to be able to walk and play with him.
In very exciting news, the last week has brought 4 good night sleeps. You've slept from 10-5, 9-6, 11-6, and 10-5. I can't thank you enough for this buddy!
Keep living the good life sweet baby boy!
I love you!
Love,
Mommy

The Sweet Life of Aspen Michael
You can pretty much find our baby boy in one of four places most days...
In his Rock n' Play
In his safari bouncy seat
On his froggy tummy mat
Or in the car seat ready to go!
And big sister is never too far away...

America, America...Celebrating in the Hamptons
We spent America's birthday celebrating in the Hamptons. Our first time in the 3 years of living here. I know shame on us. Our hotel, Ocean View Terrace, had a pool and was across from the beach. Win-win!
It was gorgeous Thursday and Saturday so we enjoyed the pool and beach.
Friday we felt the wrath of Hurricane Arthur so we did want any good parents would do...took Adelaide to an indoor jungle gym (Safari Adventure). It was packed of course but she had a grand ole time. Then after naps we did what any parents of two kids who had been couped up in a hotel for 4 hours would do...went wine tasting at Lieb Cellars. An intimate winery with live music where we could all dance and stretch our legs. Adelaide ran from our table to the band and back for 2 hours. She was a huge hit around the place!

Boston Alessandra DeZarn
On Monday June 30, 2014 at 9:31am, our newest niece arrived. Weighing 8lbs 3oz and 20/5 inches long, Boston Alessandra came out smiling. She is sweet as can be and has already been loved on by her big brother and sisters! I can't wait to get my hands on her!

Mary Poppins: A Play Review
Sunday night Ryan & I had our first date night in New York since Aspen was born. Sundays are usually our veg day but since we are heading to KY for 3 1/2 weeks soon, I wanted to get some alone time with the hubs!
I had been dying to see Mary Poppins ever since we went to see Saving Mr. Banks in December. The Westchester Theater is a local must-do and just happened to be showing Mary Poppins. Win-win! It is much like the Derby Dinner Playhouse in Louisville so you have dinner and then watch the show in an intimate setting.
We got all dolled up... as in I wore a dress and make-up. Big deal around here folks! We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal and a few adult beverages. And the show was absolutely amazing. I loved Mary Poppins as a child and I love it even more now as an adult. The cast, costumes, music, & dancing were just perfect.
I am so glad we got to enjoy a nice date night out! If you are in the area, I highly recommend going to see this production!

Family Beach Day: Long Beach, East Coast Style
Saturday we headed to the beach for a fun-filled family day. I know, New York has beaches. And I can't believe it took us 3 years to get to one. It is like a different world. Honestly, that is one of the hidden gems of NY. We live in a super country-like place where horse farms are plenty within our backyard. A thousand little towns make up Westchester County giving it a small-town feel. NYC and all its glory is a train ride away. And well now we know a part of heaven (aka the beach) is a short drive away too!
All four of us had a grand time playing in the sand, splashing in the waves, and basking in the sunshine.
