The NY Yankees & Derek Jeter

Last weekend we attended our first NY Yankees game as a family. A late afternoon game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The weather was warm but not too warm. The crowd was roaring and chanting "Derek Jeter" every chance they got. The popcorn, hot dogs, and beer were flowing. Adelaide clapped in unison with the crowd and then ran around until she needed more popcorn. Aspen was totally focused on the game. Ryan & I maybe saw two or three hits as we took turns chasing the roaming toddler. But America's sport is always a joy to watch in person. Plus it was a short train ride away so getting to & from was uber easy... a total win in my book!

It was very cool to see Derek Jeter play though since this is his final season. He is a legend and will go down as one of the greatest in sports history. So to see him in NY and live here was pretty cool. So cool that I saved the tickets for the kids' memory box :)

Puppetonia: A Hoboken Adventure

Fall in New York can be beautiful. The weather isn't blazing hot but is still nice enough to be outside. Festivals and activities galore for families makes it even better to get out of the house and explore. Within an hour drive of where we live, we can visit various little towns, cities, or states should we want. So the possibilities are endless...

This past Friday we ventured into Hoboken, NJ for a little puppet action at Symposia Bookstore. Located on Washington Street and straight out of the movie, You've Got Mail, the quaint store was magical. Puppetonia is their puppet show fit for babies and toddlers. It runs twice a day, five days a week. Adelaide was mesmerized by the snail and Billy the puppet. Songs and toys accompanied the act making it even more entertaining.

After the show, we walked to a near by park to let her stretch her legs. She even played on the little league field with a boy named Logan. I think they had crushes on one another.

Then we walked the waterfront to Little Town (owned by the Manzo brothers from the Real Housewives of New Jersey). I had the crab cake sliders and a glass of champs. Adelaide had the kids burger sliders and a flirting session with the bartender, waiters, and other lunch guests.

We truly enjoyed a new place meeting new people.

ADPi Playdate Delight

While in Kentucky, my dear friend Blair planned a wonderful Brunch with Babes playdate with some of our sorority pledge class sisters. It was wonderful to meet these little ones who I have followed on Facebook since their moms were pregnant with them!

Adelaide was the only older girl (baby Leighton is only a few months!) but she gave the boys a run for their money...including a small incident where she mistook Cruz for a pony and grabbed his hair! Eek!

Blair had a fabulous brunch set out with lots of yummy treats including mimosas and donuts! The kids loved the donuts too ;)

So much fun getting to visit with old friends and watch them in mommy mode! Hopefully we can do it again soon!

Aspen Michael: 4 Months

Dearest Aspen,

How in the world are you already 4 months old?! You are as happy as can be and such a delight to be around always. Last week you weighed 17 pounds 8 ounces. We go for your 4 month check up next week and I am anxious to see how much you weigh and how long you are. People think you are at least 6 or 7 months!

You continued your summer travels to Maine where we spent a week with your bff Aidan. You were loved on by big sister Adelaide and Aidan's big sis Caileigh. You enjoyed all of the extra love and attention :)

You celebrated Adelaide's 2nd birthday party and were the talk of the day. Bailey held you the whole time (she is our neighbor who watches you & Adelaide sometimes). She didn't want to share you with anyone! 

Mimi and Papa spent a week here spoiling you rotten! We miss them a whole bunch and can't wait to see them in October. Uncle Shane, Aunt Amanda, Aunt Bees, Aunt Kara, cousins Kinlee & Kendahl, Nana & Pops all came up too to see you be baptized. You were just as cute as can be for the whole ceremony...right until Father Mc Sweeney poured the oil on you! Uncle Shane is your godfather and Aunt Kara is your godmother. You wore your daddy's baptismal outfit (which barely fit you ;) )

You attended mommy's EATF charity event and were a huge crowd pleaser. Even our pro Justin Gimelstob couldn't stop hugging and kissing you! You hammed it up as usual, smiling and talking. You are a flirt for sure!

We welcomed fall with low 60 degree temperatures and a case of RSV. As usual you are taking it like a champ...sick eyes and all. You smile and laugh through your breathing treatments. Bless your heart you are the sweetest boy in town.

Your two bottom teeth are waiting to poke through causing you to chew on those hands like there is no tomorrow. I will certainly be glad when these teeth pop threw. 

My big boy, you are an absolute delight to have as a son.

Kim & Brock: A Mardi Gras Shower

Our very close family friends, Brock & Kim, are getting married down in New Orleans next month so my parents threw them a Mardi Gras themed couples shower while we were back in Kentucky.

We had a fun-filled evening with beads, cajun inspired food, and a festive photo booth. It was wonderful to spend time with the couple. They are truly in love and cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives together!

Next stop...NOLA!
