Home Makeover: Before and After (Take Three)

Take Three takes us upstairs. It has been a bit of a slower process as the in-laws haven't been around to turbo paint. Bless my husband's heart. In between the long houred work days and the regular honey do list, Ryan has taken on the daunting task of painting the rooms upstairs. Being the perfectionist that he is, the rooms are turning out magnificent. Slowy but surely they are getting a fresh coat of TLC.

Main Guest Bedroom:

     Before

     After

Window treatments are all picked out, just waiting for them to come in. Undecided on a rug. Artwork still needs to be hung, but we have it.

Second Guest Bedroom:

     Before

     After

Still needs to have the border removed, be painted and the window treatments put up, but other than that we are good to go!

Half Bath:

     Before

      After

We plan to paint and accent with all things whale for Baby T's bath. For now, it is a nice adult guest bathroom fit for visitors.

Master Bedroom:

      Before

      After

Aside from dumping our furniture in here and purchasing a full length mirror, we have put this room on hold. We spend the least amount of time in here as do visitors so we figured it can wait.

Master Bath:

      Before

      After

Sweet serenity. Besides making the *her* sink into a cabinet like the *his*, we are digging the uniqueness of the Tuscany mural.

The Nook:
     Before

      After

The yellow wallpaper will be outta here as soon as we decide on a color. We can't decide if we should continue the blue up through this hallway or to spice it up with something different. For now, the corner piece adds a little character & greenery to boost.

Stay tuned for pics of *the* NURSERY...it deserves its own post :)

Tay Tay Graduates From College

It is hard to believe that my baby sister is finished with college. Despite only being 7 years younger than me, I still see that little 6 year old playing with her barbies or chasing my friends around our basement with a butcher knife (yes, true story). But the truth is she is a 22 year old woman who in about to face adult life and all that comes with it.

And I couldn't be a more proud big sister...

Talk Derby To Me

Ryan & I geared up for the 138th running of the Kentucky Oaks with my siblings. We had been talking about it for nearly a year and finally made it happen a few short weeks before May. With covered seats, we were shielded from the scorching sun and pouring rain. The price wasn't too shabby either.

We enjoyed a heavy breakfast at Wild Eggs to prep us for betting small and winning big ;) Then mom dropped us off at Churchill Downs, high school style. The boys had a few bourbons while the girls enjoyed chocolate-covered frozen cheesecake on a stick. Yummy! Kendahl & I walked the Longines Pink Carpet to show off our fashion to tennis great Steffi Graf and her fellow judges. Everyone won a little money which always makes betting more fun.

We finished up the night with a family dinner at Avalon. Lobster mac n' cheese, stuffed deviled eggs, strawberry & pecan salad, filet mignon, and chocolate truffle. Amazing.

Derby day was a bit more low key. Amanda & I hit up Pure Barre (ECoop would be so proud of me :) ) to tone up our bods after the food coma we had ensued from the previous day. Then I ran errands while Ryan took a bike ride around the Ville. We cleaned up and headed over to Tiffany & Ryan's for their annual Derby party. She is the cutest hostess, fancy pack and all :) We finished up the day watching the 138th Running of the KY Derby at the Thompsons followed by a delicious steak dinner complete with asparagus, derby pie, and bourbon balls.
