August Adventures: Camps & Camaraderie

As we felt summer slipping away and back-to-school to do lists coming our way, we decided to take some adventures in the month of August. Adelaide enjoyed a bit of gymnastics camp while Aspen attended his first camp. He loved spending 4 hours a day on the tennis court and improved a lot by the end of the week.

Both Adelaide & Aspen attended Kids Yoga Camp at Your Yoga owned by my dear friend Jessi. They had a great time learning how to be zen, and they even reminded me to take a deep cleansing breath when I was feeling overwhelmed with my own to do list!

I took Brighton & Salem on a nature trail walk which was received well by all. They enjoyed bug hunting, bridge jumping, and snack pit stops.

The older three got to experience one of my childhood favorites: Kentucky Kingdom. We spent the day riding roller coasters and cooling off in Hurricane Bay. The kids loved all of the thrilling rides, the water slides, and the ice cream ;)

Our greatest adventure was an overnight to Great Wolf Lodge. The kids had an absolute blast on the slides, surfing the wave pool, making a Build-a-Bear, coloring Great Wolf totes, indulging in ice cream & candy, playing games in the arcade, doing arts & crafts, eating s'mores, watching the Clock Tower Show, and making new friends. They of course loved our Kids Cabin complete with bunk beds and a bedtime story. It truly was a wonderful getaway and a great way to end summer!

My hope is that they always look, live & love for adventure!
