40 Before 40: Eat at a Hibachi Grill Restaurant with Our Family

Hibachi is such a fun experience! A truly memorable dining treat for the kids. It’s been a long time since we’ve been to dinner at Hibachi~ really since Aspen was 2 years old.  So I felt it would be fun to have a different type of dining style as I approach 40.

The kids {minus Salem} loved the fire! They loved the chef tricks especially when trying to catch food in their mouths.

We aren’t always so diverse in our diets and eating ethnic food so it was great to have the kids try some new things. They attempted eating sushi as well as the fried rice & shrimp. A few of them even tried the filet mignon!

It was a fun Sunday evening to cap off our weekend!

                                                     

 

A Thompson Fall: Sip Apple Cider

Mulberry Orchard is one of our favorite fall places to visit. Year after year they continue to add new games & activities. This year the kids loved Apple Mountain, Pumpkin Parkway and the basketball hoops.

We, as always, enjoyed the apple cider slushies and apple cider donuts. They’re so refreshing especially on a warm fall afternoon. 

This was the perfect way to kick off our fall bucket list!

                                                

A Thompson Fall {2022}: Our Fall Bucket List

 We've mapped out all of the fall fun we are hoping to have in the coming months. Follow along as we enjoy all things apple & pumpkin, the changing of seasons, and the joys of family time.

40 Before 40: Visit Two New States {State #1: Missouri}

 You can find me in St. Louey...Missouri. As close as the state is and as many {failed} attempts as I’ve made to make it there, it was still a state that I needed to check off my list on my quest to see all 50 states.

My little Brighton man has been itching to go to a Cubs game but Chicago was out of the way question for a short 36 hour trip. With the kids sports schedules and now being back in school, the window of opportunity was small. So we capitalized on a three day weekend and headed west to St. Louis on a Saturday afternoon.

We enjoyed a great baseball game where the Cubs battled against the Cardinals {but feel slightly short of a W}. We of course indulged in all the ballpark fun including hot dogs, pretzels, & ice cream. The ballpark lit up at night with fireworks blasting for home runs made for a fun evening!

The next day we enjoyed some St. Louis tourist attractions at Union Station. The set up is incredibly kid friendly and weather proof with indoor spaces available. The other kids would definitely love it so we will be making a trip back someday! Brighton and I enjoyed the aquarium {a very unique experience with lots of interactive exhibits}, the carousel, the Ferris Wheel, mini golf & the maze of mirrors {a tribute to when the World Fair was held there}.

We truly had a great weekend! I am so glad I was able to share some one on one time with Brighton while exploring a new city & state that I’ve never visited!
