Bless This Child: SLT

On Sunday, Ms Salem Lucille was baptized in the Catholic church. We have come to know and love St. Margaret Mary Parish as it has been incredibly welcoming to us. Father Bill Hammer was a young priest when I was in school at SHMS and his niece was in my class. I always loved his sermons then and with his age has come even more wisdom & inspiring homilies.

To have our last baby baptized surrounded by family my entire family is such a blessing and very special. Proud Godmother, Aunt Amanda, and excited Godfather, Uncle Robbie (Wobbie) helped bless our sweet baby girl and welcome her into the faith community. Both have taken their role of aunt and uncle very seriously and in stride (with this crazy crew) ever since they were introduced to our family so it was special to have them round out our kids' Godparents.

Kiss Me At Midnight: New Years 2017

2017 was good to us in many ways. Our sweet Salem girl was brought into the world and her name, meaning “peace”, is bringing every bit of that to each of us. She is a light of sunshine & love that our family desperately needed following 2 very difficult years for us.

We spent NYE has we have for the past 5 years...swimming, playing, and celebrating in the Florida sunshine. We reflected on the last year and the challenges it presented yet the opportunities it granted. This year we saw some relationships broken and others strengthened. We found a new normal and groove when it came to family & parenting. Our more settled life in Kentucky proved to be good for all of us in various ways.

We are excited to see what 2018 brings for each of us individually and for us as a family. Cheers to a new year full of love, laughter, & life happily ever after!

Naples or Bust: December 2017

It was a skeleton crew this year in Naples due to babies being born and lack of time off of work. I wasn’t sure how the kids would fare without their cousins as they truly love the time spent together especially in sunny Florida. But it was a pleasant surprise to see them enjoy the sunshine and special time with Mimi & Papa. It’s rare that we get to spend time with my dad one-on-one so that was a real treat. The boys had a putt putt date which created lots of smiles. Papa played “tickle monster” chasing them around the house. And we had a very enjoyable dinner out at Tommy Bahama complete with dancing and dessert.

We also took advantage of the weather temps to swim in the pool, go for walks, take a trip to the zoo, catch a beach sunset, and play some tennis. Indoors we had plenty of R&R during nap time and just lounging around watching sports.

So very thankful for this week of family time and Florida fun!
