Salem Lucille: 6 Years Old

 Dearest Salem Lucille,

My sweet baby girl how are you 6 years old?! You’re a big Kindergartener and it seems as if you’ll be 16 years old soon! You are flourishing in school~ very meticulous about your nightly homework and studying your sight words each day.

You’ve made many new friends this year as well as enjoy hanging out with your friends from JK. You’re loving having Vivie, Jojo & Beckam at school with you this year!

You are a rock star on the soccer field! Playing for Uncle Peter & Uncle Robbie on the K team for SMM with all of your cousins. You’re loving it!

You are doing a solo for dance this year…to Shake It Off! You are too cute and I love watching you dance. You’re also doing jazz and hip hop. In your hip hop dance, you have a lead part!

You continue to learn and grow; love life and all things girly! You are crafty and attentive. You love cuddling up and dressing up. You’re a true ray of sunshine!

I love you!

Love,

Mommy

A Thompson Fall: Pick Apples from an Orchard

Not having sports on Fridays has been a great thing for our fall fun...allowing us to take adventures right after school. One afternoon we headed out to Mulberry Orchards to pick some apples. The kids love this place, each year adding new activities around the farm. We sipped on apple cider slushies, pulled BBQ sandwiches and fresh fruit. We picked apples in little totes and got apple jam too. One of our favorite fall bucket list traditions!

A Thompson Fall: Sip Apple Cider

We got creative this year with our apple cider. After school one Friday, we headed to Heine Brother's where they have a special little treat...steamed apple juice topped with cinnamon spices to make for a kids' delight. To accompany these homemade apple ciders, we enjoyed pastries as well.

40 Before 40: Go White Water Rafting

A beautiful fall day in West Virginia over fall break was spent on the rapids. Adelaide, Aspen & I headed up in the early morning and enjoyed a day on the water.

We enjoyed the fall foliage as well as the seasonably warm temperatures. Wet suits were very helpful in helping us feel less wet & cold!

We had a homemade lunch river side; we jumped off cliff rocks; we paddled through Class 2 & 3 rapids; and we giggled all day long!

A trip that was good for the soul!

40 Before 40: Attend a UM Football Game

My heart was so happy getting back down to South Florida and visiting the U. It’s been a decade since I’ve been back on campus and to share it with my little B man was even sweeter.
A tour of the campus; shopping at the bookstore; photo ops by the gorgeous fountain. All were highlights of the trip.
But the icing on the cake was attending a UM football game at Hard Rock Stadium. The field was illuminated with the nighttime lights. A prime time game with the new neon black uniforms.
It was a sliver of college football magic shared with one of my favorite people of all time {Brighton Boo}.
