The Thompson Christmas Bucket List: Read A Christmas Story

Reading has always been a favorite Christmas tradition in our family. We have a basket of books that provide beautiful holiday stories that the kids constantly can be found reading. But we always take a night to sit as a family and read. They each pick a book and I read aloud to everyone.

In addition to this, we have been reading How to Catch: A Countdown to Christmas each morning before school. Sparky & Joy brought this book and the kids have been loving it.

Snuggled up in jammies, around the Christmas Tree with festive books is a tradition I hope always stays.

 

The Thompson Christmas Bucket List: Wrap Christmas Gifts

Wrapping gifts while watching Christmas movies is one of my favorite traditions. In the quiet of the night with only the lighting of the trees, I remember my own childhood and the delight that came with unwrapping gifts. My hope is always that my babies remember the magic & joy of Christmas morning all their lives.

 

                                                   

                                                      

Sparky & Joy: A North Pole Breakfast

When our elves Sparky & Joy arrive, it’s a big celebration here! This year our North Pole breakfast took place on the last day of November...they arrived with their 3 elf pets~ Magic Diamond, Jingles & Northern Lights. Each person had a festive costume which made for lots of magic & excitement!

We had our usual spread of reindeer cinnamon rolls, elf cereal, poppyseed bread, grinch hat fruit & elf pancakes. 

The traditional holiday treats were sent~ Christmas books, personalized holiday ornaments, antique cars & precious moments, and the silky jammies.

Let the magic of the season rejoice through the eyes of my sweet children.

 

The Thompson Christmas Bucket List: Drive to See Christmas Lights

 We kicked off our holiday bucket list {and concluded Thanksgiving break} with a drive to Iroquois Park to see the Winter Woods Spectacular. This year we were able to walk the trail giving the kids a more up close look at the magical lights & sounds of holiday cheer. They each brought along one of their Christmas stuffed animals to see the show as well ;)
