Nashville: Mimosas, Muscles, & Music

This past weekend I had a 36-hour girls mini getaway with 3 of my best friends. Ali, Marquette, & I flew into Nashville to support Kelley at her first body building competition. A short but sweet trip filled with girl talk, girlie things, and girly treats. See below...mimosas and cupcakes!

KP took 4th place in her first ever competition. It was amazing to see her body transformation in person. She made us all so proud :)

We caught a glimpse of the men body builders too...they have a class for 60 to 69 year old men!

As a thank you for coming, Kelley gave us her gym favorites! So sweet!

Kel, we are so proud of you! Your hard work and dedication over the past 10 months really paid off and you looked like a knockout up there! Love you!

Give Thanks: Send Cards to Family & Friends

I have been sending holiday cards since I was in college. It always seemed appropriate to let family and friends know that I was thinking of them especially during the holiday season. A tradition that I have continued to this day.

This year I decided to send a book to the DeZarn kids. Adelaide loves the night before books for each holiday and I stumbled upon an extra copy of The Night Before Thanksgiving so I had to share with them.

Here's hoping these cards bring a little
holiday blessing to our family & friends!

Halloween 2014: 101 Dalmatians

Meet the cutest Cruella De Vil and little Dalmatian that you ever did see...

We started Halloween 2014 out with Adelaide's Tot Time class party. The kids were absolutely adorable with a capital A. They trick-or-treated from classroom to classroom them got to have a little Halloween party. And their teachers made them each a treat bag. So fun!

We ended to the day hitting up the greatest neighborhood for some trick-or-treating fun. Our neighbors absolutely rock out Halloween and decorate frightfully for the holiday. From ghosts hanging on trees, to real live graveyards to spine-tingling scream effects. Plus they give out the best treats for kids and adults :)

Hope your 2014 Halloween was SPOOKTACULAR!

Give Thanks: Decorate Festively for Thanksgiving

It is no secret that I love decorating. If you don't believe me, take a peek into my "holiday" closet. Yep that is about a thousand color coordinated bins with holiday decor. From Valentine's Day to Fourth of July to Christmas and every holiday in between. What can I say, I am a sucker for glittery fun especially from Pier One?!

I also believe in maximizing holiday decor for each holiday. So as soon as the last trick-or-treater rang our doorbell, I was shuffling the spooky Halloween decor away and placing turkeys & pilgrims all over the house.

Each year I usually add a few new pieces to my collection. Snagging sale items post holiday or random finds at Hobby Lobby. This year I recalled a great Pinterest post about painting fake pumpkins with chalkboard paint. The post showed a Thanksgiving recipe chalked on. I thought I could recreate but use  them to show what I/we are thankful for this year. The plan is to rotate each day and add something new that we count as a blessing.

I hope that your house is looking festive and bringing lots of thanks to your family!

Our Give Thanks Bucket List: November 2014

2014 has been a great year for our family. We have been so fortunate to welcome Aspen into our family as well as my niece Boston. We have traveled, spent time with family & friends, enjoyed good health, and made the most of the past 10 months. So I decide we should focus on that which we are thankful for throughout the month of November. And what better way to celebrate all that we are so blessed/thankful for than to live out a Give Thanks Bucket List.

And of course I had to show the three four (Beaumont counts too!) most important people in my life just how blessed I am to have them...

Follow us along this month to see how our family spends quality time together reflecting and being thankful for all the Lord has given/shown us! And may you have a very happy November with all of your blessings!
