A Fall Festival: Jay Day

80 degrees at the end of September in New York is basically unheard of which means being outside is a must! Sunday we spent the late morning/early afternoon down in Rye at Jay Day on the Jay Heritage Center grounds.

Complete with pony rides, a petting zoo, balloon art, painting pumpkins, Farmer's Market, face painting, falconry demonstration, and live music, it certainly was a great fall family day. Adelaide loved all of the animals as she fed the sheep treats and even got to "walk" one of them. She galloped along on her pony ride and dazzled in the falcon's flight. She got a purple poodle balloon and stood in awe of the man on stiltz!

Aspen enjoyed the fresh air and seeing all that nature had to offer. He is so alert and in tune with all of the sights & sounds these days!

Ryan & I enjoyed the warm sun and watching our children sparkle in their surroundings. Our family life isn't always picture perfect nor do all family outings always go smoothly but this one truly was wonderful for all 4 of us :)

Apple Picking: A Family Tradition

Saturday afternoon we took a short drive to Orchard Hill Thompson's Cider Mill. It is located right in the town of Croton-on-Hudson so just about in our backyard! The family lives on the property in an adorable house. And up the hill is the cider mill followed by the gorgeous apple orchards.

There were several other families popping in and out so Adelaide was in heaven picking apples, chasing little boys, taking a bite of her apple donut, then following the family dog. We sipped delicious apple cider and munched on apple muffins. It was a really fun afternoon spent with our family enjoying fall's favorite things!

Sesame Place

Last Thursday we took a little road trip over to Pennsylvania for a sleepover and day at Sesame Place. Whitney & I went with the girls and boys for a mini trip. All 6 of us shared a hotel room which provided a lot of entertainment, room service, a bottle of wine, and a late night toddler session.

The next morning the girls were up bright and early running around with excitement and anticipation of going to see Elmo at Sesame Place. They could see the amusement park from our hotel literally. They rode carousels, roller coasters, and watched magic shows.

Frightfully decorated for Halloween, kids were walking around in costume for some early trick-or-treating. It was a great day and a great trip with friends!
