So to finish our vacation week and kick-start Adelaide's birthday week, I took the kids to walk around and enjoy the gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Adelaide was in seventh heaven as she walked her way around, navigating at her own pace. She delighted in running up to each new home and shouting out the name of the animals. Always proud to know their names and the sounds they make. She thought it was hilarious to see the cow go "pee pee."

Stamford Museum & Nature Center
The Stamford Museum & Nature Center is a gorgeous property nestled just off CT-15 in a hidden spot. It features an animal farm complete with hogs, llamas, donkeys, horses, cows, goats, and more. It also boasts a wooden playground as well as a museum and beautiful walking trails. In the summertime, they have meet & greets with various animals.

I have a feeling that this will be our go-to spot for years to come!

Maine: A Family & Friends Summer Vacation
We spent last week in Kennebunk Port, Maine with our friends The Kennedys. You have seen oodles of pictures of them on here as Caileigh is Adelaide's best friend and Aidan was born the day before Aspen. Whitney & I have become great friends as have Tommy & Ryan. So when we wanted to go on vacation to Maine, I asked if they would like to join us.
We all stayed in a little lake house on Kennebunk Pond with a nice deck, firepit, and dock for boating/kayaking. Plus a gorgeous view that made early mornings and late nights even better. We had a semi-plan each day but also allowed for vacation mode where we lounged in pjs, roasted s'mores, and laughed a lot.
We walked around Kennebunkport admiring the marinas, boats, and simple life while we indulged in yummy local treats. We also drove past Walker's Point which is the Bush Estate. Best view ever.
We played on the beach and in the pond. The dads took the girls for paddle boating rides around the pond. Ryan & Tommy kayaked around too.
We spent a day at Fun Town, Splash Town where the girls were old enough to ride rides by themselves in Kidtown...they were in heaven! They also splashed around in the splash park and *unwillingly* went down water slides!
We spent an afternoon/evening in Portland at the children's museum letting the kids exercise their legs.
We had wonderful dinners out with water views in Kennebunk and Portland. We grilled out, feasting on delicious steaks & veggies.
We even hit up the outlets in Freeport which served to be a shopping dream for Ryan.
We made so many wonderful memories while vacationing in Maine. We feel blessed to have such great friends in the Kennedys and we really enjoyed our time with them and as a family!
