A Thompson Christmas: See A Christmas Play

Christmas plays and performances are some of our most treasured traditions during the holidays! We enjoy several each season~ this year we enjoyed The Nutcracker at Sacred Heart. Adelaide and her friends had a girls night out while Salem joined her girl cousins for the performance. 

To wrap up our Christmas Bucket List, the kids and I enjoyed our annual holiday play at Derby Dinner Playhouse. This year was Jack Frost Saves Christmas. A fun & funny tale of how Jack Frost came to be. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast bar, the interactive play & a photo op with Santa. 

 

A Thompson Christmas: Go Ice Skating on a Rink

 We spent a beautiful winter evening down in Paristown at Fete de Noel. The cool crisp air coupled with the twinkling lights made for magical ice skating on the rink. The kids absolutely loved it~ especially as they became more confident on the ice. I sipped on egg nog after a few trips around the ole rink. Then we warmed up by the fire and enjoyed a nice little dinner at The Village Market. A great night to celebrate the holidays!

A Thompson Christmas: Decorate Christmas Cookies

 A fun little afternoon was spent baking ice cream cookie sandwiches! Complete with Christmas flavors and Santa's Sugar Cookie ice cream courtesy of our Elves. We baked two layers of cookies on a cookie sheet. While they baked we softened the ice cream and whipped it to make it oh so creamy. Once the cookies were warm, we layered them in a small pan then spread the ice cream across and layered the other cookie layer on top. Topped with sprinkles and it was the perfect afternoon treat!

A Thompson Christmas: Sip Hot Cocoa with Family

All Aboard...Cocoa with Captain Santa!

We had an exciting time on the Mary Miller cruising down the Ohio River while sipping hot cocoa & munching on Christmas cookies with Santa Clause. There was craft making {elf hats}, story time telling, and even a dance party. Such a fun, unique experience to share in the joys of the holiday season!
