A Thompson Fall: Apple Picking at an Orchard

We kicked off our fall bucket list with a trip to Eckert’s Boyd Orchard in Versailles. It’s become an annual tradition & our favorite apple picking spot.

The country store has all of the apple goodies~ jams, donuts, cider, candies & more. The giant chair outside has become a family photo spot while the rocking chairs on the porch make for slowing down & great people watching. Of course a game of checkers is always entertaining.

The tractor ride out to the orchard is filled with anticipation & excitement as the bumps along the dirt road create lots of laughter. As the kids run into the orchard, they eat just as many apples as they pick for their bags ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿ

With bellies full, they hit the playground, tractor races, sand box, and all of the kid attractions they can possibly dream of. The piglet race track is a huge crowd-pleaser as is the petting area of baby goats.

They say babies don’t keep which is definitely true; but I am thankful that my babies enjoy these fall family outings as much as I do ๐Ÿ‚
