Brighton Kevin: 3 1/2 Years Old

Dearest Brighton Kevin,

A few weeks ago, daddy took you all to swim practice. I made breakfast that morning and helped get you dressed but I didn’t notice anything different. However when you came home from swim, you immediately looked taller; more grown up; more of a big boy & less of a baby. It took me by surprise and I had to pause. Time rarely stands still.

You’ve had quite the past 6 months. Lots of adventures and growth along the way. You are fully potty trained which has been a delight. You didn't mind peeing on the potty, but you were petrified to poop. We kept working with you and assuring you that it would be okay. A little motivation ended up going a long way!

You achieved being the first child in the family to break a bone. You fractured tour foot a few weeks before Thanksgiving resulting in a little boot. It didn’t slow you down one bit.

You are the chattiest little guy around. You are so aware of people and are not shy to stop them and say hello. You love to strike up a conversation with anyone no matter their age. You are truly my social butterfly.

You are excelling in all of your sports and starting to embrace them in all their glory. You are loving soccer and have gotten quite good at kicking the ball into the goal. You are coming along so nicely in tennis and even hitting the majority of the ground strokes over the net. Swimming is your jam and you have begun to use your arms in freestyle. You went to ski school for the first time this winter season and absolutely loved it! You beamed with pride to join the big kids.

You continue to adore your teachers and school. Your stuffed monkey had a sleepover with his other stuffed friends. They got into some mischief including trekking through the school, eating snacks & building a fort! You talked about this for weeks and couldn't believe it!

Brighty-boo, you are {a lot of} spunk and a {little} spite. Always keeping me on my toes and making me laugh! I enjoy watching you grow and mature with each passing day!

I love you!

Love,

Mommy
