In keeping with tradition, we spent Thanksgiving with our little family of 6. This year we stayed close to home, not wanting to travel too far with a newborn. So we decided to see what French Lick had to offer...man was it fun!
We made a pit stop on the way at Schimpff's Confectionery! It is one of the oldest candy making shops in the country. Complete with an old soda fountain, candy museum, and candy making demonstrations, the kids absolutely were in heaven! They were literally "kids in a candy store!"
We enjoyed lunch, two candy making demonstrations, and some sweets before heading back on the road!
At French Lick, we enjoyed all of the family fun things that they had to offer! The first night we enjoyed a Christmas-lights lit horse & carriage ride with deer sightings. Thanksgiving day the kids enjoyed the playground, making crafts, and playing in the three bounce houses. They made turkeys, piggy banks, necklaces, and ornaments throughout the weekend. They had Christmas movies playing on the big screen as well as cookies & hot apple cider for all to enjoy!
The resort was beautifully decorated throughout and the kids loved seeing all of the holiday decor. We truly enjoyed our time together as vacations take on a new meaning these days. I love seeing the joy through my children's eyes. When they are happy, I am happy!
