Once Upon A Wurt: A St. Pete Beach Wedding

The middle weekend of our trip to Kentucky, Ryan & I flew off to St. Pete Beach for Mark & Liz's wedding weekend. Mark has been a great friend for nearly a decade and I was so honored to be able to attend this special event in his (and Liz's) life.

I also enjoyed a weekend away with Ryan minus the kiddos. We haven't left the kids overnight since Adelaide was about 9 months old and we went to Italy for my 30th birthday. No doubt the kids had a great time with Mimi though!

We slept in, walked to brunch, walked the beach, swam, read (yes I read an entire book in the time I was gone!), drank, kissed, and soaked up the adult time as well as a no schedule ;)

The wedding was gorgeous and the personal vows were two of the best that I have ever heard. The details were amazing and made for a special beach feel.

Congrats to Mark & Liz!!!

SHA 15 Year High School Reunion

To kick off the summer, we spent two weeks in Kentucky. The vacation began with my 15 year high school reunion...YIKES! How has it been 15 years since I graduated from high school?!

I missed my 10 year reunion because we were on an Alaskan cruise so I was extra excited to attend the 15 year. It was a weekend affair with a tour of SHA on Friday night, our class party at 502 Cafe (owned by my bff Erin Coogan Williams and her hubby), and then a mass at the Chapel on Sunday.

I really enjoyed connecting with old classmates and hearing what was new in their lives. I also loved seeing the improvements to SHA as it looks like a college campus! And mass with the family was so special. Adelaide kept saying "mommy this is where you went to school!"

All around a great weekend and perfect way to kick off summer as well as our time in Kentucky!

our fallen classmates...we love you Jenna & Lauren!

Brighton Kevin: 9 Months

Dearest Brighton,

You are officially 3/4 of a year old! Time is flying by and I am soaking up every second of it with you. You had quite the busy month and your mobility is taking off at rapid speed. This is evident in your crawl, your ability to pull up to things, venturing up the two stairs that connect our family room & kitchen, and two casualties that started & ended the month! You flipped yourself out of the rock n' play while I was getting Aspen out of the shower. I turned around to a huge thud and there you lay on the bathroom floor. I screamed bloody murder for your dad. A few days ago, you took it upon yourself to crawl right off of your bed and land on the ground. I will not be placing you on any surface other than the ground from now on!

You have teeth coming in left and right. The bottom two centered are in and the top four centered are breaking gums. I think you are somewhere in between your siblings in the horrible teething department. Not nearly as bad as Aspen but not as smooth of a ride as Adelaide.

You had your first summer trip to Kentucky. You had an absolute blast playing with your cousins, swimming in the pool, seeing the animals at the zoo, being held & tickled by your sister, being loved on by family, walking the Big Four Bridge, and many more activities.

You also had your first sleepover with Mimi & Papa! Daddy and I went to St. Pete Beach for a wedding while you, Adelaide & Aspen stayed in Louisville. I heard you thought the first night was an all night party! Poor Mimi was not impressed ;)

One of your favorite things about the trip was getting to talk to your cousin Sawyer. The two of you would just talk and talk and talk then scream and scream and scream at one another. I would love to be in your little brain knowing what you two are carrying on about.

We are enjoying some one-on-one time as Adelaide & Aspen have started summer camp. You are a great little errand runner and helper for mommy. You smile on cue as everyone says hi to you! One of my favorite things about your flirtatious personality is how you will smile so slyly then lay your head on my shoulder as to say "I love you mommy." It melts my heart!

You truly are special and a blessing to us all!

I love you!

Love,
Mommy

Adelaide Jane: PreK Here She Comes!

I sort of just can't believe that my big girl is heading to official Pre-K. It is so surreal and ages me a bit ;) She has such a zest for learning and truly adores school like her mother. She has grown so much over this past school year. I can see it in her coloring, her language, her reading comprehension, her interactions, and her daily life. I am proud of her and I am so happy that we chose Saw Mill Club to begin her education.

It was so fun to congratulate and celebrate the Adventurers moving up! They sang adorable songs, displayed their artwork, and munched on cake to commemorate the day.
